It gives us great joy to inform you that the ordination of our Elder and Abbot Archimandrite Parthenius is scheduled for 18:00 on Saturday, July 11th, 2020, at the Holy Bigorski Monastery.
At 8:30 the next morning, July 12th, 2020, the Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, a Divine Liturgy would be served at the “St. Sophia” church in Ohrid, during which our Elder and Abbot will be ordained Bishop of Antania.
We would like to invite you, beloved faithful, to take part in the great ministry, so that together we can pray to our Lord Jesus Christ, to endow our spiritual father with grace, so that he can carry the cross of the new archiereus position with dignity.
At the same time, we ask all present pilgrims and visitors to conscientiously adhere to all prescribed health care measures, which, above all, include the mandatory wearing of protective masks and adhering to the prescribed distance. For that purpose, special protective masks will be provided to all present participants. Furthermore, a highly professional security agency will be hired, which will make sure that all prescribed health care measures are respected and that the social distance is maintained. Also, the Ministry of Interior Affairs – Ohrid district, will supervise the correct implementation of all necessary measures.
Considering that the measures require a limited number of people present in the church, live streaming of the divine service will be provided, both at the Bigorski Monastery on Saturday the 11th and in Ohrid on Sunday the 12th. As many as three huge video screens are planned for Ohrid, one at the entrance of “St. Sophia ”, the second at the western porch with the arena and the third at the main square, for the sake of dispersing the viewers and preventing crowds. With the special engagement of the cleaning company in Ohrid, on Sunday before the service begins, the church will be completely disinfected.
Online streaming would also be available on our Facebook Page and YouTube. The link will be provided here.
At the same time, we would like to inform you that due to this very important event for us, on Sunday, July 12th, the Bigorski Monastery will be closed for visitors until 15:00.
In anticipation of your prayers, we remain with you in the love of Christ!
